Time...or Not?

Will and I just cannot decide and keep changing out minds every other day....

We are moving from Los Angeles, Ca to Pittsburgh (or a dinky-sized suburb), Pa in early Jan 2009. Will graduates from Chiropractic School in December and then we are off to "make a life for ourselves" haha...finally!

So our big question...and I would really like some feedback, if you have any...

Do we want to move across the country into a new house/apt, decorate our new home, get adjusted, get Solomon adjusted, get all settled, all while I am pregnant...or wait until we are settled to start trying????

Solomon is 25 months old right now. So if we got pregnant this month (specifically this friday-tuesday haha) Solomon would almost be 3 when a new baby would be born. If we wait until say, March of 2009, Solomon would be 3 1/2 when a new baby would be born. We do not want them to be too far apart. We are already wondering if we waited to long...obviously we didn't since we do not have another babu yet, and Gods plans are perfect, but still, he LOVES children...and sometimes I wish we had another one of our very own(that is until I remember the times aka every moment of everyday when Solomon was a wee babe, and I was hyterically crying because I had no idea what I was doing. haha) Truth be told, I feel like trying this month...

I am a little afriad of the weight gain...if a little afriad means absolutely terrified. I still have 15lbs from Solomon and I am just worried that I will never ever lose it...thats a minor detail, or it should be at least...whew...ok...

Any thoughts???

I was just looking through blogs, ran upon this one, and it's really neat! Your heart comes out clearly in your postings.

About another baby: If you know you are going to move, do you have people who can help you pack and all that stuff? When you get to your new home, is there anyone that will be there to help?

If not, then, it's just wisdom to wait. If you try to do something strenuous, and feel like you pulled something, or whatever, I think you will probably worry about that the rest of the pregnancy. If you wait, then you will not have that worry.

If you get pregnant in January/February, that's not too long a time between children. It may even give Solomon time to grow into that protective, loving older brother we all want our firstborn to be! (smile)

Hope this helps!

Tsofah...that is really great advise. Thank you...while we do have family and friends to help in both places, I am the type of person who really kinda like to get thinsg done my own way...not that thats the best quality to have;). As much as I feel like just going for it, I think waiting just might be the best choice.

Mama J...
Move your buns to PA and help me unpack and then I will go forward with pregnancy :) xoxo

I agree with Tsofah. I know you pretty dang ditty well and you do like to do things your way and we both tend to get pretty stressed over things. I dont think it would make any difference at all if you just waited till Solomon was 3 1/2...actually i think it would be better. I am sure that it will be soooo hard to wait, but whatever you decide will be perfect.

Love You,
Sara

Well, as much as I know (just based on myself,) if you feel like it's time to have another baby--regardless of whatever is going on in the outside "world" or whatever inconveniences it might cause or whatever you just aren't sure of yet--then it's time. And if it takes some faith, then that's what it's there for. It took a lot of faith for me. As far as the other things, if you get pregnant now, you'll be five months along when moving and hopefully (unless you were pretty sick your whole pregnancy--I can't remember) you will be past any sickness and not yet feeling super uncomfortable. I think it's a perfect time to move, honestly. And you'll have plenty of time to get settle before the baby is born. As far as I can tell, there is never a perfect time to get pregnant because everything in your surrounding life is not just going to stay on hold for nine months plus however long it takes to get normal life going again. Concerning Solomon, I have no personal experience yet with handling two kids, but my sister-in-law insists that two kids are easier than one. I know Kaitlyn is much easier to handle when I'm also watching Rebecca, but they are the same age, so I don't know if that translates. Anyway. This is a SUPER long comment; hope it makes sense. Good luck!!

i don't think my input would be of much help concerning this post haha :) best of luck!

but in regards to your previous post, "live simply".... i have tried my hardest to constantly remember the simplicity of Africa in my daily life... so quickly, however, i realize i am running again... submerged (by no fault but my own) in the world of busy-ness. and i am sick at myself for this.

o yes, i miss tea time with friends in kenya just as you miss that in uganda. we miss the beauty of simplicity so easily here in america. we drown out the beauty of living simply... of depending fully on the Lord... with our stuff and our mindless busy chaos of life here.

thank you for this reminder that i daily need to think and ACT on... we have so much to learn from the people of africa.
